The Emotional Authority Challenge

You're not overthinking.
You're avoiding
a feeling.

Overthinking, overworking, and background anxiety are different versions of the same strategy: manage what's uncomfortable by doing more. This challenge gives you the tools to process what's difficult, cultivate what's positive, and trust the signals your body uses to steer you.

Does this sound familiar

Doing more is how we avoid
feeling more.

"I keep going over the same decision and I still don't know what to do."
"I know I should move on this but something keeps stopping me."
"I feel anxious a lot of the time and I can't always say why."
"I second-guess myself even when I've already decided."

Overthinking, overworking, background anxiety — these feel like separate problems. They're not. They're all ways of managing emotion by doing more. Keep busy enough, analyse hard enough, and you don't have to sit with what's actually there.

It works, until it doesn't. And at some point the doing more stops making the feeling go away.

Emotional Authority is a different approach. You learn to process the difficult emotions rather than outrun them. You learn to recognise and cultivate the positive ones — the quiet pull signals that your body uses to steer you toward what you actually want.

When you stop managing and start listening, something shifts. The noise quiets. The signal gets clear.

The Method

Your emotions aren't noise
to manage.
They're language to learn.

Most of us were taught to manage emotions — regulate them, push through them, or use them as fuel to work harder. That's the doing-more approach. It costs a lot and has a ceiling.

Emotional Authority works differently. You learn to process difficult emotions rather than outrun them — increasing your capacity to feel what's there without being overwhelmed. And alongside that, you learn to recognise and cultivate the positive emotional signals. The quiet pull your body sends when something is right. The gut instinct that knows before your mind catches up.

This is the emotional language your body has been speaking all along. Once you learn to read it, you have a source of guidance that doesn't require force.

Grounded in Shinzen Young's mindfulness framework, Martha Beck's Wayfinder methodology, and 25 years of qualitative research into what actually drives human behaviour.

What's Inside

Seven days.
Each one builds on the last.

Day 1
Recognition
Notice where you're in push mode and what it costs you. This is where the shift begins.
Day 2
The Watcher
Learn to take the observer position. Watch your emotions instead of being run by them.
Day 3
Signal vs Noise
Distinguish anxiety and fear-based emotion from the quieter pull signals underneath.
Day 4
Reading Pull
Learn to recognise the subtle pull forces your body has been sending you all along.
Day 5
Following Pull
Act from pull on something small. Feel the difference between forcing and following.
Day 6
Authority in Practice
Use the watcher position in a real decision. Trust what you find.
Day 7
Sustainable Power
Build the practice into daily life so it keeps working long after the seven days end.
Every day
A Practice, Not a Theory
This isn't information to consume. It's a skill you build by doing it. Each day is a short, direct guide with a practice built in.

What Women Say

The shift people describe isn't
productivity. It's clarity.

"I discovered a version of myself I didn't know was possible. The clarity I have now, the trust in my own decisions — it's opened up my entire life in ways I never imagined."

Sarah M.

"Lydia helped me see that there was so much more available to me. The practices are simple but they've unlocked a deeper relationship with myself. I feel truly at home in my body now."

Jennifer K.

"I kept waiting for the motivation to arrive. This work showed me the motivation was already there — I just couldn't hear it over everything else."

Rebecca T.

"I'm not just managing my life anymore. The decisions that used to exhaust me now feel different. I know what I know, and I trust it."

About Lydia

I spent 25 years studying
why people don't act.

As a motivational researcher in marketing, my entire career was built on understanding what moves people — and what stops them. The answer, every single time, was emotion.

Ten years ago I brought that research into coaching. And what I've seen since confirms what the science has always said: you are not stuck from a lack of information, strategy, or willpower. You're not taking action because of a feeling you're avoiding feeling.

When you learn to work with your emotions — not suppress them, not be ruled by them — you access a quality of energy and personal power that no productivity system can touch.

That's what this challenge gives you access to.

Questions

What you need to know

Is this therapy? +
This is coaching, not therapy. It's designed for healthy individuals who are managing unhelpful patterns — not those experiencing clinical mental health conditions. If that describes your situation, a licensed therapist is the right first step.
Is this grounded in science? +
Yes. The Emotional Authority framework draws on Shinzen Young's mindfulness research, Martha Beck's Wayfinder methodology, and 25 years of qualitative research into human motivation. The practices are evidence-informed and designed to create a real, repeatable shift.
How much time does each day take? +
Each video is 8 to 12 minutes. The workbook exercises take another 10 to 15 minutes depending on how deeply you want to go. This is designed for busy people — not a retreat, not a full course. A focused daily practice.
What if I want to go deeper after the challenge? +
The challenge is the entry point. If it opens something up and you want to continue, the Alignment Circle is a 12-week group coaching program that takes this work much further — with live coaching, community, and Lydia's full support. Details are inside.
Is there a refund policy? +
Yes. If you don't find value in the first 14 days, email [email protected] for a full refund. No questions asked.
